Quite simple really; we’re all about quality character animation services for commercials, short films, broadcast, corporate promos… you name it. That’s why we’re chosen by well-known people like Aardman Animations, 422 South (for Discovery Channel), Nexus Productions – and corporate clients such as American Express (through Brightlight) and Hewlett Packard.

Dan Lane, Creative Director

With a solid background in traditional 2D, hand-drawn animation, Dan’s early creations included everything from good old inbetweening, to a training CD for car mechanics, through to storyboarding the feature film Chicken Run.

Fuelled by an invaluable full-time stint in the CG department at AardmanAnimations– working on award-winning productions such as The Presentators – Dan set up Skylounge in search of a wider variety of projects – and to bring his own creations to life.

Nominated for the BBC Talent Award 2005 and the B+ Young Animator of the Year 2003, Dan’s trademark blend of humour, quirkiness, inspiration and professionalism consistently garners critical acclaim. More recently for Skylounge’s hilarious short film Two Fellas, selected by SE3D; a scheme run by the Watershed, Alias and HP Labs.
